Netflix It has just been announced completed Autumn, 2024 lineup, giving us premiere dates for a handful of horror movies coming to the streaming service this Halloween season.
Netflix previews in an official statement, “Netflix is releasing a new slate of exciting titles just in time for fall, and you’re invited to sit back and warm up. So turn on the TV and take a look at your options – there are plenty of new movies around the corner this fall.”
Here are the horror highlights from Netflix’s Fall 2024 schedule…
THAT’S BEHIND – October 4th
Starting from the film’s premiere at Sundance earlier this year, Netflix opened its checkbook and dropped a whopping $17 million to acquire worldwide rights It’s What’s Inside.
Oscar nominees Colman Domingo is the Executive Producer of It’s What’s Insidethe thriller that drew raves at Sundance and SXSW for its blinding twists, heartbreaking twists and incredible cast performances. The film is the directorial debut for the writer/director Greg’s Gardenwho is earning kudos for his fearless creative choices.
In the upcoming horror film from Netflix, “A group of friends gather for a pre-wedding party that descends into an existential nightmare when an estranged friend joins a mysterious game that awakens long-hidden secrets, desires and grudges.”
Brittany O’Grady, James Morosini, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Gavin Leatherwood, Reina Hardestyand Nina Bloomgarden star in the genre-bending film.
Platform 2 – October 4
Ask for Castle-Urrutia’s The Terrace It was a big hit for Netflix when it came out back in 2020, and the director returns to it Platform 2 this Halloween season.
Milena Smith and Hovik Keuchkerian star in the new sequel.
Netflix preview, “As a mysterious leader imposes his rule on the Terrace, a new resident becomes the battle against this controversial method of fighting against the brutal food system. But when eating from the wrong plate is a death sentence, how far would you be willing to go to save your life?”
The first film is set inside a vertical prison system, where prisoners are assigned to a level and forced to ration food from a platform that moves between floors. Prisoners on high floors eat better than those below, and one man tries to make a difference so that everyone gets enough.
THE STRANGE SHADOW – 17 October
Indonesian author Timo Tjahjanto (The Night Comes to Us, May the Devil Take You, V/H/S/94) is back with a new film The wandering Shadowbeing billed as an action thriller.
I The wandering Shadow“Codename 13, a 17-year-old trained assassin, is suspended for a sloppy mission in Japan. The girl developed a conscience when she met Monji, an 11-year-old boy who lost his mother to a crime syndicate.
“When Monji is captured, a 13-year-old sets out on a path of destruction to rescue the boy, including going up against her mentor and the organization that employs her, the Shadow.”
The cast includes Aurora Ribero, Hana Malasan, Taskya Namya, Agra Piliang, Andri Mashadi, Adinia Wirasti, Nobuyuki Suzuki, Tanta Ginting, Ali Fikryand Kin Wah Chew.
Lady of the Hour – 18 October
In 1978, a serial killer appeared on live television as a bachelor on Dating game. Director (and star) Anna Kendrick tells the story i Lady of the Houra thriller based on true events.
Netflix previews the upcoming festival hit, “A stranger-than-fiction story about a talented actress in 1970s Los Angeles and a serial killer in the middle of a years-long killing spree, whose lives intersect when they are cast on an episode of Dating game.”
Meagan Navarro explains in her four-star review of Bloody Disgusting, “Anna Kendrick is focusing on the true crime serial killer story in her directorial debut, Lady of the Hour. A witty, kitschy ’70s exploration of gender dynamics gives way to a suspenseful stranger-than-fiction story about serial killer and rapist Rodney Alcala and his strange appearance as a bachelor on “The Dating Game.” Kendrick’s hilarious vision, which mixes horror and humor with non-linear storytelling, makes for a solid debut.”
Nicolette Robinson and Autumn is the best also a star.
FAMILY PACKAGE – OCTOBER 23
In the board game The werewolves of Millers Hollowinspired by wolfparanoia and distrust ensue as players try to uncover the hidden identity of a wolf in their midst. Coming to Netflix in October, the French comedy Family Pack adaptation of the horror board game.

MacPherson also directs Time Cutwhich is described as “Back to the Future together Scream.”
In the upcoming slasher, which will premiere on Netflix for Halloween, “A teenage girl travels back to the early 2000s to stop a vicious killer from murdering her sister.”
